Patola, is a tagalog term for luffa or ridge gourd. It is one of the most common vegetables in the Philippines which is the most favorite stew ingredient. Patola soup is one of the best soup appetizer being served during lunch or before the proper meal.  Patola is the main ingredient in some popular Filipino recipe such as "ginisang patola sa miswa", bulanglang, inabraw and my most favorite pork sinigang. In my personal experience, patola is best when added to pork sinigang because it adds extra-ordinary taste and natural sweetness  that you'll surely love.
