Peanut Butter is a sandwich spread made of finely grounded dried and roasted peanuts combined with butter and sugar. Peanut butter is popular in the Philippines and some countries in Asia. It is also known in some countries in Europe such as Netherlands and United Kingdom. Though it is mainly used as sandwich spread, Peanut butter is also a main ingredient in cooking some Filipino recipes like kare-kare and kaldereta.
Peanut Butter gives health benefits like: high level of monounsaturated fats and resveratrol. Peanut butter (and peanuts) also provides protein, vitamins B3 and E, magnesium, folate, dietary fiber, arginine, and high levels of the antioxidant p-coumaric acid.Peanut butter is a source of incomplete protein. A common combination to provide a complete protein is pairing peanut butter with whole wheat bread, however, the two foods need only be consumed within 24 hours of each other to complete the protein. Ingredients In Making Home-Made Peanut Butter:
- 2 cups of roasted/dried peanuts
- 2 tbsp. margarine or butter
- 1 tbsp. vegetable or peanut oil
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- a pinch of salt
Materials:
- blender
- mixing bowl
- spatula
Procedure:
- Prepare and clean you blender
- Put in the peanuts,margarine,salt and oil
- Blend until the mixture becomes thick like a paste
- The blending takes approximately about 4-5 minutes until the perfect thickness achieved
- transfer in a mixing bowl or serving bowl
- Refrigerate or store in a cool temperature
- Spread in your sandwiches
