How to Make Tortang Talong

Torta is a spanish word with huge array of culinary meanings. In the Philippines, when you say torta, it means fried food solidized by egg. It can be ground pork, vegetables or canned goods. Tortang talong is just one of torta recipes and one of the easiest to prepare among all torta recipes. 



Ingredients in Making Tortang Talong: 

  • 1 big roasted and peeled talong(eggplant) 
  • 1 minced garlic 
  • 1/2 chopped onion 
  • 1 beaten egg 1 tbsp. 
  • cooking oil 
  • a pinch of salt 

Procedure: 

  • On a pan, heat oil 
  • Saute garlic and onion and remove from heat 
  • Mix them with egg add salt 
  • Flatten the roasted eggplant and dip in the egg mixture
  • On the same pan,fry the combined mixture for at least 3 minutes 
  • Turn upside down and fry for another minute 
  • Serve with catsup and rice
